Dubai took a significant step towards shaping the future of cloud computing by hosting a closed meeting of the World Bank Cloud Computing Working Group today.

The meeting served as a precursor to the highly anticipated Global Government Cloud Computing Forum 2025, organized by the Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC) in collaboration with the World Bank Group.

The landmark forum, the first of its kind globally, is scheduled for January 21, 2025, at the iconic Museum of the Future. It aims to revolutionize cloud computing in government sectors, attracting over 500 experts, 200 government officials, 50 international speakers, and 30 innovative leaders.

The closed meeting brought together digital government representatives, cloud computing providers, senior officials from various countries, and public and private sector experts. Discussions centered on four pivotal themes: artificial intelligence, green computing, quantum computing, and cybersecurity. Interactive workshops fostered innovative solutions, culminating in a visit to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park to explore sustainable cloud technologies.

Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, CEO of DESC, highlighted the forum’s alignment with Dubai’s vision for advanced infrastructure and innovation, driven by its leadership.

“This event reflects Dubai's dedication to fostering global technological development and sustainability,”

he said.

The Global Government Cloud Computing Forum 2025 promises to be a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global hub for innovation and cutting-edge technology.
