Dubai Hosts TIME100 AI Impact Awards at World Governments Summit 2025

Dubai's Museum of the Future played host to the "TIME100 AI Impact Awards," co-organized by the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 and TIME.

The prestigious event recognized individuals who have made groundbreaking contributions to artificial intelligence, transforming industries and shaping global progress.

On the eve of WGS 2025, four distinguished AI pioneers were honored: Arvind Krishna, Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM; Grimes, musician and CEO of Media Empire; Refik Anadol, media artist and co-founder of Refik Anadol Studio and Dataland; and Anima Anandkumar, Professor at the California Institute of Technology.

Mohamed Al Sharhan, Managing Director of WGS, emphasized AI's transformative role, stating,

"AI is no longer a futuristic concept; it is a force reshaping the way we live, work, and govern."

He highlighted WGS’s commitment to fostering global partnerships and discussions on technology and governance.

TIME CEO Jessica Sibley echoed the sentiment, affirming TIME’s dedication to spotlighting leaders at the forefront of AI-driven innovation.

The 12th edition of WGS is set to be the largest yet, welcoming over 30 heads of state and government, 80+ international organizations, and 140 government delegations. With more than 6,000 participants, the summit will feature six main themes and 21 global forums, facilitating over 200 interactive sessions addressing international trends and transformations.

Additionally, WGS 2025 will convene more than 30 ministerial meetings, hosting over 400 ministers to discuss policy advancements and governance strategies. As AI continues to redefine industries, the summit aims to drive impactful conversations and collaborations on a global scale.
