Dubai Humanitarian, in collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator's Office, convened a high-level session with representatives from key humanitarian hub-hosting nations, including Australia, Cameroon, China, Ghana, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Panama, Spain, and the UAE. Leaders from global humanitarian agencies such as the World Food Programme (WFP), UNHCR, UNICEF, WHO, and the IFRC were also in attendance.

The session, held at Dubai Humanitarian’s Knowledge and Development Centre, built on the momentum from the First Conference of Countries Hosting Humanitarian Hubs during COP28. Its primary goal was to strengthen cooperation among host nations by leveraging shared resources and platforms like the Humanitarian Logistics Databank, aimed at improving crisis response through real-time data on prepositioned aid.

Rashid Al Hamiri, Director of Development and International Cooperation at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, opened the session, followed by speeches from Bérangère Boëll, UN Resident Coordinator for the UAE, and Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian.

"Our goal is to foster coordination among countries hosting humanitarian hubs by sharing knowledge and best practices,"

Saba emphasized. Boëll highlighted the urgency of enhancing global humanitarian responses, noting that over 360 million people needed assistance in 2023, with climate-related disasters displacing 20 million people annually.

The session concluded with a tour of Dubai Humanitarian’s facilities, showcasing the logistics capabilities that support emergency relief efforts worldwide.
