Dubai International Airport (DXB) has once again claimed the title of the world’s busiest hub for international passengers, marking its eleventh consecutive year at the top.
The milestone was confirmed by the latest Airports Council International report, with DXB recording 92.3 million international travellers in 2024.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, described the achievement as more than just a statistic.
“It embodies Dubai’s global stature as a premier destination for tourism, trade, business, and residency,”
he said.
Griffiths credited the success to the collaborative efforts across the aviation sector, emphasizing the city's commitment to delivering a world-class travel experience.
“Despite ongoing challenges facing global aviation, our consistent leadership sets a new benchmark in international passenger traffic through a single airport,”
he added.
Looking ahead, Griffiths revealed that development is already underway at Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport. The expansion aims to boost capacity and redefine standards in airport infrastructure and passenger experience, reinforcing Dubai’s long-term vision as a global aviation powerhouse.
