The Dubai International Baja 2024, the final leg of the Baja World Cup series, promises to deliver an exhilarating experience for motorsport fans and competitors alike.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the event is set to take place in Hatta, a picturesque and rugged locale, on November 29-30.
Organised by the Emirates Motorsports Organisation (EMSO) in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, and supported by Al-Futtaim Toyota and various Dubai government entities, the event introduces a unique prologue stage in Hatta for the first time. This 4.5-km qualifying stage, commencing at 2:30 pm on November 29, is a strategic addition that determines the starting order for the main Special Stage the following day.
The prologue’s demanding terrain in the Hajar Mountains offers a fresh challenge for competitors, blending rocky landscapes with desert dunes. Muhammad Khamis Al Muhairi, EMSO Vice President, highlighted this innovation, stating,
“The fascinating terrain in Hatta showcases a lesser-known side of Dubai, offering a thrilling spectacle for both competitors and the local community.”
Fans can also enjoy the Opening Ceremony at Dubai Festival City at 7 pm on November 29, where competitors and their machines will be on display. With its vibrant urban setting juxtaposed against the serene desert, the Dubai International Baja continues to redefine off-road motorsport, cementing Dubai’s position as a hub for world-class sporting events.
