Dubai International Chamber Facilitates 308 Business Meetings in Uganda to Strengthen Trade Ties
Dubai International Chamber, part of Dubai Chambers, has successfully facilitated 308 business meetings between Dubai and Ugandan companies in Kampala, marking the first leg of its trade mission to Uganda and Tanzania.
This initiative, under the 'New Horizons' program, aims to expand the reach of local Dubai businesses into new global markets.
The mission featured a prominent business forum, ‘Doing Business with Uganda,’ held in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Kampala and several Ugandan institutions, including the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum brought together over 300 business leaders and officials to explore trade and investment opportunities between the two regions.
Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, met with the Dubai delegation and commended the mission's role in fostering stronger economic ties. She expressed confidence that the forum would drive dialogue, investment, and partnership creation between the business communities of both nations.
The event also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dubai Chambers and the Uganda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and organizing future business events and trade missions.
His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized Dubai’s commitment to growing its global trade and investment partnerships. He highlighted Dubai's business-friendly environment and competitive advantages as key factors for companies looking to expand internationally.
The mission included 29 Dubai-based companies from various sectors such as construction, healthcare, agritech, and IT. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Uganda reached AED 4.4 billion in 2023, underscoring the potential for further economic collaboration.
