Dubai International Chamber, part of Dubai Chambers, recently held an ‘In Focus’ event aimed at expanding opportunities for Dubai-based businesses in Tanzania and Uganda.
The event drew over 100 representatives from private sector companies in the emirate, offering valuable insights into cross-border trade and investment potential in both countries.
The event featured a series of presentations and panel discussions, providing participants with expert knowledge on the economic landscapes of Tanzania and Uganda.
Hassan Al Hashemi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the Chamber's commitment to helping Dubai's business community succeed in global markets. He stated,
“We are keen to provide opportunities for companies to build successful partnerships that contribute to sustainable growth.”
The session included a presentation on Dubai International Chamber’s initiatives to support the international growth of Dubai companies, particularly in Tanzania and Uganda. This was followed by an interactive panel discussion focused on trade and investment opportunities in these markets.
Participants benefited from market intelligence, regulatory advice, and support throughout their international expansion efforts. The event also introduced Dubai Chamber’s ‘New Horizons’ initiative, which organizes trade missions and business meetings in targeted countries.
The New Horizons initiative aligns with Dubai's broader goals under the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the size of the emirate's economy over the next decade by encouraging global business expansion.
This event highlights Dubai’s growing efforts to strengthen its economic ties with emerging markets in Africa.
