Dubai International Chamber has opened a new representative office in Stockholm, marking its first presence in the Nordic region and strengthening economic relations between Dubai and Sweden.
The office was inaugurated during a ceremony attended by Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade; Ghasaq Shaheen, UAE Ambassador to Sweden; and Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers.
Launched under the Dubai Global initiative, the new office aims to deepen bilateral trade and investment flows while promoting Dubai as a preferred business destination for Swedish companies.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, said the move highlights the chamber’s strategic focus on expanding its global footprint and tapping into Sweden’s innovation-driven economy.
“The opening of our Swedish office marks a significant step in our global outreach and reinforces our strategic focus on the Nordic region,”
Lootah said, adding that the office will act as a gateway for Swedish companies seeking opportunities in Dubai.
Trade between Dubai and Sweden has continued to grow, with non-oil bilateral trade reaching AED 3.9 billion in 2024, a 5.3 percent increase from the previous year. The number of Swedish members at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce also rose to 940 by mid-2025, reflecting growing business interest.
With offices across five continents, Dubai International Chamber continues to play a key role in attracting international investments, fostering global partnerships, and strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading hub for trade and innovation.
