The Dubai International Program for Writing (DIPW), a key initiative of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), has launched a four-month ‘Novel Writing Workshop’ in Jordan.
The workshop, held at the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (AHSF) in Amman, is led by Dr. Shahla Ujayli, a distinguished author and lecturer in Arabic literature.
Focused on Arabic literature and fiction, the workshop aims to nurture young literary talents by providing them with the skills necessary for novel and creative writing. The program combines modern training techniques with practical exercises to enhance participants' abilities to craft unique literary works.
Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, expressed his enthusiasm for the workshop, stating,
"We are delighted to strengthen the MBRF’s contributions to Jordan’s literary and knowledge landscape. Supporting young literary talents is a priority for us, and this workshop is a testament to our commitment to empowering youth across the Arab region."
The workshop aligns with DIPW’s vision of fostering a thriving literary and knowledge movement in Arab communities. Under Dr. Ujayli’s guidance, participants receive top-tier education and practical experience, essential for budding writers aiming to make their mark in both regional and global literary spheres.
DIPW is renowned for its wide range of workshops, including those on translation, children’s literature, and literary criticism. The program has a strong track record, having trained over 400 young writers and published around 200 books, some of which have received prestigious awards. DIPW continues to expand its reach, hosting workshops across the Arab world and beyond, demonstrating its commitment to nurturing literary talent globally.
