Dubai has joined the Global Resilient Cities Network, marking a significant step in the emirate’s ongoing push to enhance urban resilience, sustainability, and long term preparedness for future challenges.
The move positions Dubai among leading global cities focused on anticipating risks and strengthening crisis and disaster management. It also reinforces the emirate’s reputation as a city committed to maintaining stability, protecting quality of life, and ensuring uninterrupted development.
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management, said the membership represents a strategic milestone. He noted that the network will help Dubai further advance its capabilities to anticipate and adapt to evolving challenges while contributing to global efforts in building resilient urban systems.
Ahmad Atiq Bourqibah, Executive Manager of the Dubai Resilience Centre, said the partnership will expand Dubai’s access to global expertise and best practices. He emphasized that the collaboration will support the city’s drive to become more future ready by developing stronger policies, smart technologies, and innovative solutions in risk management and resilience.

Through the network, Dubai will engage in international cooperation on projects that enhance service continuity and improve resident well being under all conditions. Officials say the emirate aims to not only manage crises but transform challenges into opportunities for sustained progress.
Dubai is the first city in the GCC to join the Resilient Cities Network. Its participation is expected to encourage broader regional engagement and contribute to strengthening global resilience through shared knowledge and forward looking urban strategies.
