The sixth edition of the Dubai Labour Sports Tournament is scheduled to kick off on 15th September 2024 and will run until 23rd February 2025.

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), in collaboration with the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs, Dubai Police, and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, the event aims to engage over 46,000 workers from 270 companies across 31 nationalities. The tournament will feature 12 sports disciplines held at ten venues across the emirate.

The tournament was announced in a press conference attended by DSC officials, including Vice Chairman Khalfan Belhoul and Secretary General Saeed Hareb. Under the slogan, "Making them happy is our goal," the initiative underscores the commitment to worker welfare and aligns with the vision of Dubai's leadership to appreciate the contributions of the labour force.

Saeed Hareb emphasized the tournament's role in promoting health, happiness, and productivity among workers, noting that the event fosters inclusivity by offering activities suited to diverse cultures and abilities.

Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs added that the event plays a pivotal role in boosting workers' well-being and is expected to surpass 100,000 participants in future editions.

This year, the tournament includes new events for female workers, such as badminton and yoga, further enhancing participation and engagement. The Dubai Labour Sports Tournament continues to expand, with an increasing number of sports and participants, making it a key event in Dubai's annual sports calendar.
