Dubai Land Department (DLD), in partnership with the Community Development Authority (CDA), has wrapped up the second phase of interactive workshops under the Barwa Programme, engaging 169 senior citizens and People of Determination across the emirate.
The sessions formed part of a joint effort to boost real estate awareness among these groups and introduce services designed specifically for them. Workshops were held at Al Barsha Community Centre and at Thukher centres in Al Wasl and Al Khawaneej, covering regulatory procedures, digital access channels, and private sector partnerships under the Al Hasela Initiative.
The results were notable. Satisfaction at Al Barsha rose from 59% to 90%, while the Thukher sessions saw approval climb from 50% to 90%. Across the programme, customer happiness reached 94%, a figure organisers point to as evidence the initiative met its core goals.
Beyond the numbers, the workshops generated strong engagement, with participants raising detailed questions that helped DLD and CDA better understand the needs and expectations of senior citizens and People of Determination. Officials say this direct feedback will shape future service development.
The Barwa Programme is described as the region's first sustainable social and humanitarian real estate initiative, built around an ecosystem of field, digital, and advisory services including Al Barzah, Al Karani, Al Tarash, Al Mersal, and Al Kaitoob, alongside Al Hasela.
The series closed with a joint review session where both entities assessed outcomes and agreed to deepen institutional collaboration. Plans include expanding joint initiatives, refining awareness content, and strengthening dedicated communication channels for target groups.
The programme aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, supporting social inclusion and improved access to government services. Organisers describe it as reinforcing a human centred approach to government, placing residents at the core of service design as Dubai works toward a more cohesive and accessible society.
