In a powerful display of empowerment, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) recently hosted the ‘She Pioneers’ event, celebrating the remarkable achievements of women in the real estate sector.
The event not only honoured outstanding women but also underscored their vital role in driving sustainable growth and fostering increased female investment within Dubai’s booming real estate market.
Attended by prominent figures such as Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan Al Maktoum, Sheikha Shamsa bint Hasher Al Maktoum, Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai, and Majida Ali Rashid, CEO of the Real Estate Development Sector at DLD, the event drew a dynamic crowd of officials, businesswomen, and DLD female employees.
In her opening remarks, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan Al Maktoum lauded the DLD for hosting the event, praising the department's commitment to empowering women and enhancing their roles in various sectors, particularly real estate. She emphasized that such initiatives reflect the ambition and determination of Emirati women, celebrating their remarkable contributions and encouraging their continued pursuit of excellence.
“This event is a testament to the extraordinary resilience and vision of Emirati women, whose contributions are shaping the future of real estate and beyond,”
said Sheikha Latifa.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid also shared her support for the event, emphasizing the importance of empowering the next generation of female leaders in real estate.
“Women today play a crucial role in this vital sector,”
she stated.
“We are witnessing a shift where women are not just participants but leaders in real estate, creating opportunities, driving innovation, and laying the groundwork for future generations to thrive.”
She encouraged continued collaboration to amplify women’s influence in shaping sustainable economic opportunities and driving the future of the sector.

Majida Ali Rashid, in her speech, focused on the significant progress women have made in the real estate industry, noting their transition from investors and specialists to influential driving forces in the sector’s growth.
“Women are not just watching from the sidelines; they are taking charge, making bold decisions, and transforming the real estate landscape,”
Majida stated. She pointed to the impressive statistics: female investors now make up 34% of total real estate investors, accounting for AED 118 billion in transactions. Emirati women alone hold over 33,900 investments, contributing to 25% of Dubai’s total real estate brokerage transactions.
“These numbers are a reflection of the unwavering confidence women have in the market and their ability to lead with foresight,”
she added.
The event also spotlighted the growing international presence of female investors in Dubai’s real estate market, with the number of female investor nationalities increasing from 193 in 2023 to 200 in 2024. This growth reinforces Dubai’s standing as a preferred investment hub for women globally.
One of the major outcomes of the event was the launch of the ongoing ‘She Pioneers’ programme, designed to create continuous opportunities for women in real estate. A key component of this programme is the ‘Women in Real Estate Charter,’ which aims to expand women’s opportunities and enhance their roles within the market. Dubai Land Department has also introduced a set of initiatives, including flexible investment packages, competitive commission rates, and training programs, to support female brokers and investors.

Additionally, the ‘Real Estate Women’s Club’ was introduced as a platform for networking among industry leaders and experts, while the ‘Women Of Wealth’ digital platform is set to empower women in real estate investment by promoting a broader concept of wealth that incorporates knowledge and social equity, alongside financial assets.
“We’re not just building properties; we’re building legacies,”
said one of the event’s speakers, encapsulating the long-term impact of female leadership in real estate.
The event featured engaging discussions such as the ‘She Leads’ panel, which focused on women’s leadership roles, investment, and digital transformation in real estate. The ‘She Innovates’ session highlighted success stories from pioneering women who have made a lasting impact on the sector.
To cap off the event, an honour ceremony recognized several influential women, including investors, brokers, and sponsors who have significantly contributed to the growth of the real estate market in Dubai.
Through initiatives like ‘She Pioneers,’ the Dubai Land Department reaffirms its dedication to empowering women, aligning with the UAE leadership’s vision of supporting women as a crucial pillar of economic development.
“The future of real estate is bright, and women will continue to lead the way,”
Majida Ali Rashid concluded.
