Dubai has unveiled a pivotal initiative aimed at safeguarding children's welfare and promoting family wellbeing with the launch of the Dubai Child Protection Framework.
Announced in February by The Executive Council of Dubai, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the initiative aligns with the city's broader social development goals for the Year of Community.
The Framework, designed to ensure every child in Dubai is protected and nurtured, is a critical part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, focusing on the family as the foundation of the nation. It emphasizes a collaborative approach to child protection, promoting shared responsibility among parents, communities, and institutions.
This comprehensive system covers all stages of a child's development, from prenatal care to young adulthood, up to the age of 21. It provides continuous support, integrating key areas such as healthcare, education, and social wellbeing. The Framework also targets vulnerable groups, offering specialized services for mental health, career readiness, and education for adolescents.
In addition to strategic initiatives like the Dubai Child Protection Protocol, the Framework integrates digital tools to enhance service accessibility and efficiency. Collaborative efforts among various government bodies, professionals, and community organizations ensure well-coordinated, proactive child protection measures.
With a focus on training social workers and other professionals, the Framework strengthens Dubai’s commitment to building a cohesive, future-ready society. By prioritizing child welfare and family support, this initiative sets a global benchmark for integrated child protection systems.
