His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, has issued Law No. (14) of 2024, which establishes the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai.

This law outlines the committee's objectives, duties, and operational guidelines, as well as the responsibilities of its General Secretariat. It emphasizes compliance with local and federal laws and international agreements.

Additionally, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Committee, has approved Decision No. (3) of 2024, which provides guidelines for the committee's operations. These guidelines focus on streamlining the legislative process and ensuring alignment with the UAE Constitution and relevant laws.

Law No. (14) replaces Decree No. (23) of 2014 and Executive Council Resolution No. (12) of 2014, annulling any conflicting legislations. Existing regulations from the previous decrees will remain effective until they are replaced by new ones. The law aims to create a sustainable legislative framework that adapts to future changes while maintaining effective law application in Dubai.
