With less than 100 days remaining, event organizers are working closely with the Dubai Sports Council and various government departments to finalize preparations for the 24th Dubai Marathon, set for Sunday, January 12, 2025.
Recognized as the fastest marathon in the region, this year’s event will feature three race categories: a 4km, a 10km, and the classic 42.195km marathon distance.
Race Director Peter Connerton expressed enthusiasm about the number of participants already signed up, stating,
“With around 12 weeks to go to race day, our focus is on delivering an infrastructure that appeals to both elite and amateur runners. Thanks to the support from the Dubai Sports Council and government bodies like Dubai RTA and Dubai Police, we are on track for another memorable event.”
On January 12, runners from across the globe will traverse scenic routes along Jumeirah Beach Road, Al Sufouh, and Umm Suqeim Road. This prestigious race not only offers participants the chance to compete against some of the world’s best but also presents a platform for setting new records on its flat, fast roads.
Dubai Sports Council Secretary-General Saeed Hareb hopes to welcome even more elite runners and international visitors this year, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with local services.
“Dubai is well-established as a marathon that showcases dynamic new talent,”
Connerton added, citing Ethiopian Tigist Ketema’s record-setting performance earlier this year.
Supported by key partners, including adidas and Dubai Duty Free, the 2025 Dubai Marathon promises to be a landmark event in the global running calendar.
