A delegation from the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), led by Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, CEO of the DMA, visited Hatta to monitor and enhance development projects and licensed marine tourism activities.
The visit aligns with efforts to boost Hatta’s position as a unique tourist destination in Dubai and the UAE.
Key stops included Wadi Lim Lake and Hatta Kayak at Hatta Dam, both renowned for their appeal to marine tourism enthusiasts. The delegation met with Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, to discuss collaboration on marine and waterway management. Both parties highlighted the need to improve facilities and services, given Hatta’s growing popularity.
Sheikh Saeed praised the collective efforts in realizing the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to develop Hatta as part of Dubai’s strategic plan. He urged continued enhancements to marine services in collaboration with relevant authorities and stressed the importance of supporting marine tourism operators.
“This visit reflects our commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in managing Hatta’s waterways, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global tourism destination,”
said Sheikh Saeed.
The CEO emphasized visitor safety as a top priority, requiring close coordination among stakeholders and continuous upgrades to marine equipment. He also referenced Law No. 3 of 2023, which outlines the DMA’s role in regulating and managing Dubai’s maritime sector in line with global best practices.
The visit underscores the DMA’s dedication to fostering marine tourism in Hatta while maintaining safety, quality, and sustainability.
