The Dubai Media Council (DMC), in collaboration with the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), hosted an insightful workshop on the ‘Nafis’ programme at DMC’s headquarters, bringing together key stakeholders from media institutions committed to the ‘Emirati Media Talent Pledge.’
Launched under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ‘Emirati Media Talent Pledge’ aims to empower national talent and equip them with the skills needed to thrive in the private sector. The initiative supports Emirati media students, graduates, and professionals seeking to develop their careers in the media industry.
During the workshop, Her Excellency Nehal Badri, Secretary General of DMC, emphasized the importance of supporting emerging Emirati talent, acknowledging ETCC’s efforts in opening new career pathways across sectors.

Badri noted.
The session highlighted the ‘Nafis’ programme’s role in enhancing Emirati capabilities through internationally accredited training, financial incentives, and specialized qualifications, making private sector careers more attractive. Saif Al Suwaidi, Project Manager at DMC, underlined that the programme plays a vital role in preparing Emiratis for positions in leading media companies.
The workshop was a significant step toward realising the UAE’s vision for a competitive and sustainable media industry, with ongoing training sessions and workshops planned to further develop Emirati media professionals.
