In a significant move to bolster Dubai’s media landscape, the Dubai Media Council (DMC) has initiated discussions with SONY Group Corporation, a global leader in gaming, entertainment, and electronics.
The meeting, held at DMC headquarters, aligns with Dubai's ambition to enhance its media sector and nurture local talent through strategic partnerships with international media giants.
The discussions were attended by top executives, including Her Excellency Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the DMC; His Excellency Malek Sultan Al Malek, Director General of Dubai Development Authority and Chairman of TECOM Group; His Excellency Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing; and Toshimoto Mitomo, Senior Advisor and Chief Strategy Officer at SONY Group Corporation.
The meeting focused on Dubai's evolving media landscape, with an emphasis on developing a highly skilled workforce capable of producing world-class creative content. Her Excellency Nehal Badri underscored SONY’s expertise in media technologies and affirmed DMC's commitment to expanding global partnerships, particularly in music production and digital gaming.
His Excellency Malek Al Malek highlighted Dubai's rise as a leading media hub, driven by partnerships with major international media companies. He expressed enthusiasm for deepening collaboration with SONY to advance high-quality media productions, especially in emerging fields like electronic gaming.
The discussions also addressed the challenges facing the media industry, emphasizing the need for high-quality content that meets global standards. Toshimoto Mitomo praised Dubai's growth as a regional media hub and expressed SONY’s eagerness to explore new avenues for collaboration with the DMC.
