Dubai Media has launched the Al Bayan Centre for Economic and Strategic Studies, a new research platform designed to sharpen the organisation's data driven analysis and strengthen its role in interpreting the region's economic direction.
The announcement came during Dubai Media's participation in the Arab Media Summit 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The Centre will operate as a specialised knowledge resource for Al Bayan's News and Newspapers Unit, producing studies, reports and forward-looking insights that place economic data within broader strategic context. Its methodology bridges academic research and economic journalism, turning raw indicators into accessible analysis for decision-makers, investors and the public. It is also intended to serve as a meeting point for experts and private sector figures examining trends shaping the economy.
Hamed bin Karam, Editor-in-Chief of Al Bayan, described the launch as part of a wider push to build a research-driven media model that helps audiences understand economic indicators rather than simply report them. He said the Centre would support a sustainable platform for studies on economic and strategic issues and reinforce media's role as a partner in the UAE's knowledge based economy.
Alongside the launch, Dubai Media released the Centre's first publication, a study titled Comprehensive Economic Indicators of the United Arab Emirates, tracing the country's development from 1968 to 2024. The report charts the UAE's shift from an oil reliant economy to one of the world's most diversified and competitive, highlighting growth in tourism, trade, industry, financial services and technology.
It also documents progress in education, healthcare, women's economic participation and infrastructure, positioning the UAE as a global commercial and economic hub built on decades of sustained reform.
