Dubai Metro has earned the prestigious ISO 55001 certification for asset management, further cementing the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) leadership in providing world-class transportation systems.
In collaboration with Keolis-MHI, the operator of Dubai Metro and Tram, RTA has committed to international best practices in asset management, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the sustainability of the emirate’s transportation infrastructure.
This certification, awarded to Dubai Metro, emphasizes RTA's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve its asset management systems. Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Maintenance Department at RTA’s Rail Agency, expressed pride in the achievement, stating,
"Obtaining this certification highlights RTA's reputation as a model for enhancing asset management efficiency and performance to world-class standards."
Al Mutawa further emphasized RTA's commitment to innovation, focusing on minimizing lifecycle costs and contributing to a smarter, more sustainable future for Dubai’s transport infrastructure.
David Franks, Managing Director of Keolis-MHI, shared his satisfaction with the milestone, saying,
"This achievement reflects our joint commitment to world-class asset management practices that prioritize safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction, with a strategic focus on sustainability and innovation."
It is notable that Dubai Metro first received ISO 55001 certification in February 2014, a reflection of RTA's comprehensive approach to asset management across all stages, from acquisition to decommissioning. This strategy enhances decision-making and strengthens risk management, setting a new benchmark for urban mobility in Dubai.
