In celebration of the Dubai Metro's 15th anniversary, passengers arriving at Dubai International Airport were treated to a surprise.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), launched a commemorative initiative at airport terminals 1 and 3, marking the metro’s role in shaping Dubai’s transportation landscape.

As part of the celebration, 10,000 Nol cards were distributed to arriving passengers, making travel between the airport and Dubai’s key destinations smoother and more efficient. The Nol card allows easy access to the metro, buses, and other public transport services. Additionally, a special stamp commemorating the occasion was placed on passengers' passports, enhancing their arrival experience.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, emphasized the metro's importance in supporting Dubai's vision of becoming a sustainable and smart city.

"The Dubai Metro is an integral part of our transportation network and continues to offer an effective and modern means of travel for both residents and visitors,"

he said.

Since its launch, the Dubai Metro has grown into one of the city's most vital transport services, connecting passengers to various parts of the emirate and easing the burden on road traffic. Its continued expansion reflects Dubai's commitment to providing sustainable, world-class urban mobility solutions.

This 15-year milestone serves as a testament to the metro's success in supporting Dubai’s development goals, as the city moves forward with its ambition to enhance the traveller experience and maintain its global reputation for innovation in transport infrastructure.
