Moving Homes in Dubai? Transfer Your DEWA Connection with the 'Move To' Service

Planning to shift your home in Dubai? Thanks to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), updating your utility connections has never been easier.

DEWA’s innovative 'Move To' service simplifies the transition, allowing residents to manage their electricity and water connections without the hassle of canceling and creating new accounts.

How It Works

The 'Move To' service eliminates the need to cancel your existing DEWA account and open a new one when relocating. Instead, the process can be completed online or through DEWA's smart applications, ensuring a smooth transition between residences.

Steps to Apply

  1. Application Channels:
    • Online: Visit the DEWA website at www.dewa.gov.ae or use the DEWA Smart App.
    • Phone: Contact DEWA’s Customer Care Centre at 04-6019999. Note: This option is available through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) if Ejari is available, there are no outstanding dues, and the move is within the same type of premises (villa to villa or flat to flat).
    • In-Person: Apply through real estate management companies or Dubai Land Department-authorized offices once your Ejari is activated.
  2. Requirements:
    • Contract account number of your current residence
    • Planned move-out date
    • Details of the new residence
