Dubai Municipality has partnered with Siemens to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies across the emirate’s public facilities, marking a significant step in Dubai’s push toward a smarter and more sustainable urban environment.

The strategic Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Badr Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, and Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens Middle East and the UAE. The agreement aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and supports the city’s ambition to build a knowledge-driven digital economy.

Under the partnership, both entities will explore AI-powered solutions to enhance facility operations, improve energy management, and optimise the performance of public assets. The collaboration aims to strengthen service quality, reduce environmental impact, and support long-term sustainability across parks, beaches, and other public spaces.

Dubai Municipality noted that the initiative reinforces its commitment to integrating advanced digital systems into the design, management, and operation of public environments. Siemens will contribute its expertise in intelligent infrastructure to help elevate efficiency and resilience across the city’s facilities.

The MoU also establishes a framework for piloting predictive maintenance tools, AI-driven building automation, and smart analytics platforms capable of monitoring environmental and operational data in real time. These technologies are expected to support better decision-making and more responsive public services.

Both sides will co-develop technical guidelines and knowledge resources to advance global best practices in smart infrastructure. This effort will help Dubai Municipality enhance institutional readiness and ensure public spaces are more adaptive to community needs.

The agreement positions the Public Facilities Agency as a key enabler of Dubai’s digital transformation, contributing to the emirate’s vision of becoming one of the world’s most liveable and innovative cities.
