Dubai Municipality has completed a major infrastructure upgrade in Nad Al Sheba 3, delivering a new sewerage and rainwater drainage network at a cost of AED277 million.

The project is part of broader efforts to enhance the city’s infrastructure and align with Dubai’s long-term vision for sustainable urban development.

Spanning 340 hectares and covering around 300 land plots, the project includes a 24-kilometre sewerage network with pipelines ranging from 200 to 800 millimetres in diameter, along with 11 kilometres of household connections. The network is designed to improve public health, support environmental sustainability, and streamline future maintenance.

To strengthen rainwater management, the development also features a new pumping station with a capacity of 4,000 litres per second and a 31-kilometre gravity drainage pipeline network. This system is intended to reduce flood risks and ensure water flow efficiency during heavy rains.

Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said the initiative supports the emirate’s strategic infrastructure programmes, including the AED30 billion ‘Tasreef’ drainage project and the AED80 billion sewerage system upgrade. He emphasized the role of advanced technologies in improving service delivery and quality of life.

The project contributes to Dubai’s goal of connecting all areas to a fully integrated network, positioning the city as a global benchmark for smart, future-ready infrastructure.
