Dubai Municipality has ramped up its monitoring efforts to ensure public health and food safety during Ramadan.

The intensified field inspections are covering a wide range of establishments, including markets, malls, restaurants, bakeries, hypermarkets, and event venues across the emirate. These inspections are aimed at ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards and health regulations.

As part of its proactive approach, the Municipality has also strengthened controls at ports of entry, facilitating the release of food shipments while conducting rigorous safety checks on popular Ramadan products. In total, over 100 licensed establishments hosting Ramadan tents and outdoor events have been issued permits to ensure they meet the necessary health and safety guidelines.

Dr. Naseem Mohammed Rafee, Acting CEO of the Environment, Health, and Safety Agency, emphasized the Municipality’s dedication to maintaining high food safety and public health standards during the holy month.

“These measures ensure that all residents have access to safe, high-quality food while proactively safeguarding the community from health risks,”

he said.

The Municipality has also conducted awareness campaigns and educational workshops focusing on food storage, preparation, and waste reduction, as well as meat quality standards and occupational safety. Special attention is being given to pest control at Ramadan tent locations and livestock markets to prevent health risks.

In addition, Dubai Municipality has bolstered its public health services with increased operational readiness, particularly in high-traffic areas like livestock markets and veterinary quarantines. Residents are encouraged to use smart services, such as the Dubai Abattoirs app, for safe and efficient access to services, while the Municipality’s 24-hour call center remains available for public inquiries related to food and health safety during Ramadan.
