Dubai Municipality has unveiled the first sand equestrian track in Hatta, offering horse riders a safe and scenic trail set against the backdrop of the region’s striking mountains.
The project’s first phase features a 2.54-kilometre track, three metres wide, designed for both amateurs and professionals. Riders can bring their own horses or rent on-site, making the experience accessible for enthusiasts and tourists alike.
Developed under the directives of the Supreme Committee to Oversee the Development of Hatta, the track supports Dubai’s vision to boost tourism, diversify the economy, and expand world-class recreational facilities in the region.
Officials highlighted that the initiative goes beyond sport, serving as a driver for investment, hospitality, retail, and small business opportunities. By drawing visitors seeking authentic outdoor experiences, the track is expected to stimulate Hatta’s local economy.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the facility was built to international standards while preserving the heritage of horsemanship, a cornerstone of Emirati culture.
With panoramic views and state-of-the-art safety measures, the equestrian track marks a new milestone in Hatta’s transformation into a leading tourism and leisure destination.
