Dubai Municipality Launches Health and Safety Week to Promote Workplace Well-being

Dubai Municipality has kicked off today its Health and Safety Week event, in conjunction with the World Workplace Health and Safety Day, which is celebrated on 28th April each year, with the participation of both government and private entities, to promote best practices and exchange experiences in the field of health, safety and prevention of accidents and illnesses to ensure a safe working environment for all.

Dubai Municipality is dedicated to enhancing occupational health and safety programs, aligning with global standards and local needs. Initiatives like the Occupational Health and Safety Control Program and Environmental Health Control Program are pivotal.

Dr. Naseem Rafie emphasizes proactive measures for workplace safety and underscores the municipality's commitment to employee well-being. Advanced systems and policies ensure safety for all employees and residents, reflecting Dubai's ambition to be a leading sustainable and well-being-oriented city worldwide, in line with its leadership's vision.

The Health and Safety Week, which will take place from April 29 to May 2, 2024, will feature talk sessions on the impact of climate change on occupational health and safety, and provide insights into the future of occupational health and safety. It will also include presentations on best health and safety practices, as well as workshops exploring first aid methods and critical risks that could impact workplace safety.

An accompanying exhibition will feature specialized health and safety companies offering medical examinations to employees, while workers’ awareness workshops will raise awareness on mandatory safety procedures and workers’ rights.
