Dubai Municipality has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BiOD Technology FZCO, a subsidiary of DUBAL Holding, to convert used cooking oils (UCO) and fats, oils, and grease (FOG) into B100 biodiesel, a clean and renewable energy source.
The agreement strengthens Dubai’s commitment to environmental sustainability, aligning with its Vision 2030 and broader circular economy initiatives. Under the partnership, BiOD Technology is authorised to collect UCO and FOG from across Dubai and process them into biodiesel, reducing environmental pollution, protecting sewer systems, and cutting wastewater treatment costs.
Senior officials including Fahad Al-Awadhi, Yousef Bastaki, and Shiva Vig attended the signing. Adel Al Marzooqi, CEO of the Waste and Sewerage Agency at Dubai Municipality, described the partnership as a “significant step” toward turning waste into valuable energy resources.
BiOD Technology’s leadership reaffirmed their commitment to practical, impactful sustainability solutions that support Dubai’s transition to clean energy and promote green innovation across the emirate.
