Dubai Humanitarian (DH), formerly known as the International Humanitarian City, has revolutionized disaster response with its innovative dashboard.

This platform enables countries affected by disasters to request aid in mere minutes, compared to the previous wait time of 7-10 days.

DH CEO Giuseppe Saba highlighted the significance of this advancement.

“On our website, we started a humanitarian logistic data bank, a collaborative effort of various Dubai-based organizations,”

he explained. The dashboard, developed in collaboration with customs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other entities, provides real-time information on available aid stocks worldwide.

Previously, disaster-stricken countries had to rely on the United Nations for aid coordination, a process that took several days. Now, DH’s system allows immediate access to data on aid stocks, significantly speeding up response times. Operational in Dubai, Italy, and Panama, DH is expanding its network and engaging with governments to enhance emergency preparedness.

DH’s efforts have been critical in response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, with over 100 shipments of aid worth approximately $20 million sent since October 2023. Saba detailed their aid shipments, which include shelters, medical supplies, food, and more, ensuring timely delivery through Egypt.

In addition to Gaza, DH addresses crises in Sudan, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Syria. The organization also provides essential telecommunication equipment to re-establish communication in war-torn areas.

Located in Dubai, DH’s strategic position allows rapid aid deployment globally. Hosting over 80 organizations, including 11 UN entities, DH exemplifies a robust humanitarian network.

Saba emphasized the need for sustainable aid practices and collaboration with private companies and philanthropists to address funding challenges and improve humanitarian efforts.
