Residents of Damac Hills 2 in Dubai will soon have a new transportation option as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) launches a dedicated bus service, effective July 1.
The service, named DA2, aims to improve connectivity for residents of this suburban community.
Bus stop signs bearing the RTA logo have been installed within Damac Hills 2, marking the beginning of the new route. According to information shared by an RTA call center executive, the DA2 route will operate between Damac Hills 2 and Dubai Studio City, with buses departing every two hours.
The service will run daily from 5.47am to 9.32pm, offering residents a flat fare of Dh5 per trip. This initiative is expected to alleviate transportation challenges faced by residents, especially those like Linda Panganiban, an expatriate who previously had to rely on costly taxi rides due to limited transport options.
"I no longer have to pay Dh100 for a taxi ride,"
Panganiban expressed, highlighting the significant savings offered by the new bus service. She, along with other commuters, will now have access to an affordable and convenient travel option connecting them to key areas such as Dubai Studio City.
Damac Hills 2, known for its affordable housing options, has seen a rise in popularity among residents seeking townhouse living without exorbitant rental costs. The introduction of the DA2 bus service is expected to further enhance the community's appeal by providing efficient public transport alternatives.
With the new bus service set to commence operations, residents anticipate smoother commutes and reduced dependency on private vehicles, thereby contributing to enhanced mobility and convenience within Damac Hills 2 and neighboring areas.
