Dubai Municipality has announced a record-breaking year for its parks and recreational facilities, with over 31 million visitors in 2024, a 7% increase compared to 2023. This growth underscores the Municipality’s efforts to transform public parks into premier leisure and tourism destinations.
Visitor Highlights
In 2024, over 20.8 million people visited public parks across Dubai. The five major parks—Zabeel, Mushrif, Al Mamzar Beach, Dubai Creek, and Safa Park—drew 6.69 million visitors, while notable landmarks like the Quranic Park and Dubai Frame welcomed 1.8 million and 1.59 million visitors, respectively.
Other popular attractions included:
- Cycling, mountain biking, and pedestrian tracks: 1.49 million users.
- Playgrounds: 180,000 visitors.
Focus on World-Class Urban Design
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, attributed the growth to the world-class design and functionality of Dubai’s parks, which prioritize comfort, sustainability, and inclusivity.

Anwahi said.
“Our long-term strategies focus on creating vibrant, multifunctional community hubs for recreational, cultural, and sporting events while boosting investment opportunities in line with Dubai’s rapid urban development.”
Alignment with Key Strategies
Dubai’s parks align with major city-wide initiatives, including:
- Dubai Urban Plan 2040
- Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033
- Dubai Walk Masterplan, which aims to create a pedestrian-friendly city with green spaces and sustainable recreational areas.
Community Engagement and Events
In 2024, Dubai’s parks hosted 1,283 events and initiatives, including:
- Farmers Souq
- Souq Al Freej
- Future Trader
- Dubai Fitness Challenge
- Grand Picnic
These events catered to cultural, sporting, and community interests, enhancing the appeal of public spaces.
Sustainability and Operational Efficiency
The Municipality achieved a 98% efficiency rate in preventive maintenance through strategic planning, system upgrades, and sustainability-focused projects. These improvements enhanced visitor experiences while optimizing infrastructure and operational systems.
