The Dubai Press Club (DPC) has announced the agenda for the fourth edition of Dubai PodFest, taking place on September 30, 2024, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

As the largest annual gathering of podcasters in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), this year’s event will focus on the future of podcasting in the Arab world, coinciding with International Podcast Day.

Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, President of DPC, emphasized the significance of the event in shaping media trends and fostering discussions around the evolving podcast industry. With over 100 leading podcasters and audio content creators expected to attend, Dubai PodFest aims to explore strategies to enhance the impact of podcasts and celebrate success stories from the region.

Recent reports indicate a 65% increase in podcast listenership in the Arab world, with Arabic-language podcasts gaining more influence than their English counterparts. Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of DPC, stated that the festival will delve into key drivers of growth and inspire creativity among industry professionals.

The agenda features a keynote address from James Cridland, Editor at Podnews, who will discuss emerging trends in the global podcast landscape. Panel discussions will cover topics such as AI in podcasting and audience insights, while interactive workshops will provide practical skills for content creators. Notable sessions include discussions on women in podcasting and success stories from the Arab region.

As Dubai continues to foster innovation in the media industry, PodFest 2024 is set to be a pivotal event for the podcasting community.
