Dubai Police Academy Launches Second Edition of Police Innovation and International Leadership Diploma

The Dubai Police Academy has officially launched the second edition of the Specialised Diploma in Police Innovation and International Leadership (PIL), the first of its kind in the region.

This advanced programme, running until May 2025, is aimed at enhancing innovation and leadership within global law enforcement agencies. It has attracted 54 police leaders from 40 countries, a notable increase from the inaugural edition, which saw 45 participants from 29 nations.

Organised in collaboration with the General Department of Training at Dubai Police and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai, the programme is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to tackle global security challenges. Key modules focus on advancing policing methodologies, leadership development, and fostering global collaboration among law enforcement entities.

Brigadier Badran Saeed Al Shamsi, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic Affairs and Training, emphasized that the PIL diploma aims to strengthen Dubai’s global leadership in policing by investing in human capital and innovation. The programme is aligned with the vision of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to enhance operational and professional capabilities in policing worldwide.

The diploma’s curriculum includes academic programming, tactical training, and physical development, with 469 hours of training delivered by 35 international experts. Brigadier Muhammad Atiq Thani, Acting Deputy Director of the General Department of Training, highlighted the growth in participation and the programme’s international recognition, further solidifying Dubai's reputation as a hub for police training and innovation.
