Dubai Police has rolled out a wide-ranging school security plan to safeguard students as the 2025–2026 academic year begins, deploying patrols, drones, and awareness programmes to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment across the emirate.
The initiative will see 250 security and traffic patrols stationed around schools, supported by nine drones, six luxury patrol cars, four mounted units, and 60 bicycles. More than 750 officers will engage directly with students, while 300 children will join the “Safety Ambassadors” programme to promote awareness among peers.
Officials announced the measures during a press conference at the Officers Club in Al Jaddaf, attended by senior Dubai Police leaders and school principals. Brigadier Dr Abdulrahman Al Maamari, Secretary-General of Hemaya Council, said the force remains committed to making education environments safer and more interactive through innovative field programmes.
Police teams will visit 71 schools to raise security and community awareness, supported by initiatives from the Hemaya International Centre, the Positive Spirit Council, and the Naseej programme.
Captain Majid bin Saaed Al Kaabi, head of the “School Security” initiative, noted that the plan also focuses on strengthening trust between students, parents, and police through lectures, safety guidance, and interactive events. Activities will include road safety campaigns, entertainment featuring the police mascot “Mansour,” and the distribution of school supplies.
Al Kaabi stressed that children’s safety is a shared responsibility, calling on families, schools, and police to work together to build a secure and motivating educational environment.
