Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, recently reviewed the strategic plans and future projects of the General Department of Airport Security.
These initiatives align with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as Dubai positions itself for a new phase of growth in the global aviation sector. The aim is to lead international aviation for the next 40 years.
During his visit, Al Marri assessed the department's strategic indicators, core operations readiness, and the advanced systems and technologies currently in use. He highlighted that Dubai Police has the capacity to maintain high performance in airport security, ensuring a seamless experience for travelers. In 2023, the department successfully secured 87 million passengers and nearly two million tons of cargo, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global aviation hub.
Al Marri emphasized the importance of modern systems, including artificial intelligence, to enhance both security and passenger flow. The department has implemented various programs to safeguard airports and streamline operations, all while adhering to national and international security standards.
Accompanied by Jamal Al Hai, Deputy CEO of Dubai Airports, Al Marri toured key areas, including the Joint Operations Room, flight transfer zones, and the newly opened travel lounge for people of determination. He also reviewed employee satisfaction initiatives, achieving a 100% motivation rate in 2023, and the department’s numerous awards for innovation and excellence.
The visit also included an overview of the Dubai Civil Aviation Security Center’s training programs, which provided 167 courses to 4,388 trainees in 2023, ensuring the highest security standards at Dubai airports.
