Dubai Police announced today the upcoming launch of the Middle East’s first floating Smart Police Station (SPS), set to begin operations by the end of 2026.

The project, part of a broader AED2 billion initiative to enhance security and public safety, was introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The floating SPS is designed to offer advanced, world-class services at sea, catering to yacht and boat owners as well as water sports enthusiasts. Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of Assets and Facilities at Dubai Police, stated that the facility will provide 27 primary services, including filing criminal and traffic reports, as well as 33 additional services in six languages. The station will operate 24/7 with no human intervention, harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

The floating station is part of Dubai Police's Smart Police Station (SPS) initiative, which aims to deliver automated, state-of-the-art services to residents both on land and at sea. This innovation will ease the pressure on traditional police centers and contribute to the "Dubai the World's Smartest and Happiest City" vision. Lt. Col. Al Tamimi emphasized that the station’s design would be optimized for ease of access, making arrival, boarding, and disembarking quicker and more convenient for boat and yacht owners.

This floating SPS represents the fourth edition of Dubai Police’s Smart Police Stations, marking a significant step towards enhancing community security and the overall quality of life in Dubai.
