The Dubai Police has won three awards from the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy under the "Dubai Program for Excellence in Energy Demand Side Management."
This program acknowledges outstanding initiatives promoting Dubai's sustainable development through responsible energy and water usage, circular economy, innovation, and environmental enhancement. Three sustainable projects received awards: the "Exemplary Maintenance Project," retrofitting Dubai Police buildings with energy-saving technologies; the "Exemplary Solar Project," utilizing solar panels for clean energy, both led by the General Department of Logistics; and the "Exemplary EV Fleet" program, named "i-Serve," converting service vehicles to eco-friendly ones, managed by the General Department of Transport and Rescue.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), presented the awards during a ceremony at the Four Seasons Jumeirah on Monday.
Major General Ali Ghanem, Assistant Commandant for Community Happiness and Logistics at Dubai Police, emphasised that under the guidance of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the force is committed to innovating projects and initiatives that apply best practices in energy efficiency and enhance a sustainable environmental work culture, aligning with Dubai Government's vision.
Ghanem highlighted the significance of these awards as they reflect Dubai Police's solid commitment to Dubai's "Energy Demand Management Strategy," aiming to reduce energy and water consumption and promote a more sustainable future. He also praised the program's role in motivating institutions and individuals to work towards reducing energy and water consumption by 30% by 2030, reflecting Dubai Police's ongoing commitment to participating in all awards that reflect excellence in various fields, including energy.
Brigadier Juma Ahmad bin Darwish Al Falasi, Acting Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue at Dubai Police, reiterated the commitment to adopting the best environmentally friendly practices in the field of vehicles, stating that the award-winning "i-Serve" electric vehicle project aims to convert service vehicles to environmentally friendly options, achieving a 100% reduction in petrol service vehicles, thus supporting Dubai's Sustainability initiative.
