Dubai Press Club has opened submissions for the tenth edition of the Ibda’a Arab Youth Media Award, a platform dedicated to recognising and nurturing young media talent across the Arab world.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the award has become a launchpad for aspiring professionals, connecting them with leading media institutions and industry opportunities.
Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, said the award plays a vital role in empowering the next generation of media talent, offering participants not just recognition but also pathways to professional growth. She emphasised that the initiative reflects Dubai’s ongoing commitment to shaping the future of the region’s media sector.
Amna Khalil, Director of the Award, noted its responsiveness to the rapid transformations in the media landscape. She encouraged universities and academic institutions to support student participation, highlighting that entries are open to Arab media students worldwide.
Submissions are accepted in six categories — Photography, Podcasting, News Reports, E-Games, Multimedia, and Short Video — and can be in Arabic or English. Each category carries a prize of USD 5,000. Students may apply individually or in teams, with entries required to be original and endorsed by their academic institutions.
The deadline for submissions is 16 February 2026, with entries accepted through the official website. Winners will be announced during the Arab Youth Media Forum, an annual platform that brings together established media leaders and emerging talent to discuss the future of the industry.
