Dubai Public Library Honored with Prestigious Arab Library Excellence Award

Dubai Public Library, under the management of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), has received the esteemed Naseej Academy Library and Information Pioneers Award in the Arab world for Professional Excellence.

This recognition highlights the Library's outstanding contributions to advancing the Arab library sector and its role in enriching Dubai’s cultural landscape.

The award was presented during the 35th Arab Federation for Libraries and Information Conference in Muscat, Oman, themed ‘Arab Libraries and Archives Institutions and Their Role in Promoting Digital Identity and Citizenship.’ Organized by Oman’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University and AFLI, the event brought together academics and library professionals from across the region to discuss topics like digital content management and the impact of AI on information accessibility.

During the conference, Dubai Culture showcased its initiatives designed to strengthen cultural industries and empower libraries as hubs for creativity and learning. Abdulrahman Kalbat, Director of the Public Libraries Department at Dubai Culture, highlighted the significance of the award, stating:

“Dubai Public Library has become a vital knowledge platform and cultural gateway for the community. This recognition motivates us to continue innovating and delivering high-quality services to foster creativity, research, and talent development.”
