Dubai has launched a new initiative aimed at speeding up the resolution of legal disputes through amicable settlements, marking a shift toward more efficient and socially cohesive justice practices.
Approved by His Excellency Essam Essa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai, the “Reconciliation is Better” initiative encourages parties in conflict to resolve disputes outside of traditional court proceedings. The move is part of Dubai Public Prosecution’s broader strategy to modernize legal processes and support the goals of the Dubai Plan 2030.
Counsellor Al Humaidan said the initiative reflects a forward-looking judicial approach grounded in international best practices. By offering a lawful and constructive alternative to litigation, it seeks to enhance efficiency, reduce legal costs, and promote a culture of dialogue and mutual understanding.
The approach enables prosecutors to guide willing parties toward fair settlements that respect legal rights while preserving community harmony. It also helps ease pressure on the court system, delivering quicker outcomes without compromising justice.
Al Humaidan described amicable resolution as “a powerful form of justice” that builds trust, strengthens social bonds, and aligns with Dubai’s vision of a safe, tolerant society.
The initiative underscores Dubai’s ambition to become a global hub for alternative dispute resolution and reinforces its commitment to innovative, people-focused legal services.
