Authorities in Dubai have updated the timings for when trucks are not allowed on certain roads during Ramadan.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that on the E11 corridor, trucks cannot travel from 7 am to 11 pm instead of the previous 6 am to 10 pm. This rule applies to the corridor from the Sharjah border to Interchange No. 7 on Sheikh Zayed Road, including Al Ittihad Street, Sheikh Rashid Street, and Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as central areas of Deira and Bur Dubai.
Some streets have bans on truck movement three times a day, with changes to the morning and afternoon timings. The morning ban is now from 7:30 am to 9:30 am, and the afternoon ban is from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Trucks are always prohibited from certain routes, such as Al Shindagha Tunnel, Al Maktoum Bridge, Floating Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge, Business Bay Bridge, Infinity Bridge, and Airport Tunnel.
On Fridays during Ramadan, the truck ban is from 12 noon to 3 pm instead of the usual 1 pm to 3 pm.
Previously, Abu Dhabi also updated its truck ban timings during peak hours, prohibiting trucks from 8 am to 10 am, and 2 pm to 4 pm in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain cities.
