Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme Draws Over 1,000 Emirati Registrations, 25 Strategic Partnerships
Since mid-March, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) has received more than 1,000 registrations from Emirati citizens to implement the Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme, a pivotal initiative under Dubai’s Social Agenda 33.
The programme has already formed 25 strategic alliances with development and real estate brokerage companies in the private sector.
Expressing his satisfaction with the programme’s significant interest among citizens, developers, and real estate brokers, Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director-General of the DLD, stated,
“This reflects the early positive impact of the programme, showcasing citizens’ aspirations and eagerness to engage as real estate brokers and acknowledging the pivotal role of Dubai’s real estate sector locally and globally.”
He added,
“Dubai consistently offers outstanding examples of collaboration and synergy between the private and public sectors. With the programme’s enrolment exceeding 1,000 citizens and real estate companies continuing to join the strategic alliance within a short period, we are diligently working towards achieving all the ambitious goals of the Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme. In particular, Emirati real estate brokers will increase from 5 percent to 15 percent over the next three years.”
Over 15 Training Workshops Until the End of the Year
The New Economy Academy's inaugural training course marks the start of over 15 workshops planned by year-end as part of a program aimed at empowering and qualifying participants, with a focus on creating employment opportunities for citizens and facilitating the issuance of real estate broker licenses. This initiative, a crucial part of the "Rehabilitation Project" in the real estate brokerage sector, collaborates with industry experts to improve professional standards, streamline transaction processes, and enhance industry ethics.
The qualification project is a key component of the broader "Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme," which includes initiatives to promote Emirati involvement in the sector and foster business growth.
Various Support Packages to Unlock New Horizons
Through a partnership with the private sector, UAE citizens participating in the program will receive support packages to bolster their competitiveness and enable their involvement in the real estate sector. This includes collaborating on quality projects, promoting innovation and sustainability, offering vocational training, and empowering citizens within the private sector. Additionally, efforts will ensure that 10 percent to 15 percent of development company sales are marketed by Emirati real estate brokers, further enhancing citizen empowerment through employment opportunities in real estate development.
Expanding Presence of Citizen Brokers
The Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme targets increasing citizen brokers from 5 percent to 15 percent over three years, fostering youth participation in Dubai's developmental initiatives across key sectors.
Aligned with Dubai's Social Agenda 33, endorsed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, it aims to triple Emirati presence in the private sector. Furthermore, it supports Dubai Economic Agenda D33, integrating 65,000 UAE youths into the labor market and promising sectors, solidifying Dubai's reputation as a skilled professional hub.
