Dubai has once again been crowned the cleanest city in the world, as per the latest Global Power City Index (GPCI) report by Japan's Mori Memorial Foundation.

This marks the fifth year in a row that Dubai has earned this prestigious title, underscoring its commitment to setting a global benchmark for urban sustainability and quality of life.

Surpassing 47 global cities, Dubai achieved a perfect score in city cleanliness under the environment pillar of the index. This accomplishment reflects the tireless efforts of Dubai Municipality and its partners, guided by the Dubai Integrated Waste Management Strategy 2041, which aims for an 18% reduction in waste production and a 100% diversion from landfills by 2041.

Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, attributed this achievement to the UAE leadership's vision and the dedication of over 3,200 municipal staff.

"Dubai’s faith in its teams has established a global benchmark for future cities defined by innovation, sustainability, and exceptional quality of life,"

he stated.

Dubai’s advanced cleanliness system operates year-round, supported by 855 state-of-the-art vehicles and covering diverse areas, from highways to water canals and industrial zones. The Municipality integrates pioneering technologies, such as smart waste management systems and electric cleaning vehicles, to enhance sustainability and reduce carbon emissions.

By maintaining world-class standards, Dubai continues to enhance community happiness and reinforce its status as the world’s best city to live and work.
