Dubai Ride is back for 2024, inviting cyclists of all skill levels to tour the city’s iconic landmarks on traffic-free roads. Set for Sunday, November 10, this year’s event, presented by DP World, promises an even grander experience after last year's turnout of over 35,000 participants. As part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), Dubai Ride offers an exhilarating opportunity to explore the city on two wheels, with Sheikh Zayed Road once again transforming into a massive cycle track for its fifth edition.
Riders have three exciting options for the event, with two main routes catering to different experience levels. The family-friendly 4km Downtown route begins at 6:15 AM, starting from Dubai Mall and looping through Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. Cyclists will enjoy a scenic ride past landmarks like Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa, making it perfect for families and casual riders. Meanwhile, more seasoned cyclists can opt for the 12km Sheikh Zayed Road course, which runs from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and passes iconic spots like the Museum of the Future and Dubai Canal. The route also provides multiple start points, including Museum of the Future, Al Satwa, and Coca-Cola Arena.
New this year is the Dubai Ride Speed Laps, an early-morning challenge for experienced riders over 21. Taking place from 5 am to 6 am, this high-intensity lap along Sheikh Zayed Road encourages cyclists to maintain an average speed of 30km/h. Open to skilled peloton cyclists, Speed Laps require riders to bring suitable bikes and have prior peloton experience to participate safely.
To support participants, Decathlon is providing repair stations along the route, ensuring a smooth ride for all. Additionally, Decathlon is offering free bike repairs at its Dubai stores for registered riders up until early November. Registration for Dubai Ride and Speed Laps is free but separate and interested participants can sign up at www.dubairide.com. Once registered, riders will receive a QR code to collect their event bib from Dubai Municipality Zabeel Park’s Fitness Village until November 9.
Dubai Ride 2024 is presented with support from several partners, including Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Emaar, and Dubai Police. Whether you're a casual rider or an avid cyclist, Dubai Ride offers an unparalleled chance to experience the city’s vibrant streetscapes, celebrate fitness, and create lasting memories.
