Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received four prestigious certificates from the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) for its exemplary practices in transport planning, investment, innovation, and digital transformation.
These recognitions highlight RTA's comprehensive approach and world-class tools used in developing transport project plans that align with Dubai's urban and economic growth objectives.
RTA was awarded the ‘Organising Transport’ certificate for its advanced transport planning methodology, which includes data analysis and scenario evaluation to develop comprehensive transport solutions. This strategic planning aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, ensuring that road and public transport projects meet the emirate's developmental needs.
The ‘Investment Pillar’ certificate was granted to RTA for effectively executing investment opportunities that enhance commercial revenues and foster public-private partnerships, particularly in technology and sustainable business practices.
The authority also received the ‘Digital Transformation Pillar’ recognition for its Digital Strategy 2030, which comprises 24 digital initiatives in areas such as artificial intelligence, metaverse, and the Internet of Things. This strategy aims to establish a robust digital infrastructure, supporting Dubai's vision of becoming the smartest city globally.
Additionally, RTA was honored with the ‘Innovation and Future Foresight Pillar’ certificate for its forward-looking strategies, including its Innovation Strategy aligned with the National Innovation Strategy and its Strategic Plan 2024-2030. This has cultivated a culture of innovation within the organization, fostering sustainable and efficient transport solutions.
Fatima Al Mandoos, Director of Innovation & Pioneering at RTA, emphasized that these achievements reflect the authority's commitment to maintaining Dubai's leadership in seamless and sustainable mobility. The UITP's recognition underscores RTA's role in enhancing the quality and sustainability of Dubai's transport infrastructure.
