Dubai’s streets came alive this morning as 307,000 runners joined Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai, marking the world’s largest free community run and delivering a highlight of Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2025.

The massive turnout showcased the city’s growing culture of health, fitness, and community spirit.

From early hours, participants filled Sheikh Zayed Road, led by a fleet of police supercars, creating a remarkable sight against Dubai’s iconic skyline. Runners of all ages and abilities took part, from first-time 5km participants to experienced 10km competitors, as the event encouraged the DFC ethos of ‘Find Your Challenge’.

The family-friendly 5km route passed through Downtown Dubai, finishing near Dubai Mall, while the 10km route offered a scenic run past landmarks including the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal, and Burj Khalifa, concluding at DIFC Gate Building.

Entertainment kept the energy high throughout the morning, with DJs from UNTOLD, celebrity MCs Kris Fade and Katie Overy, live performers, marching bands, stilt walkers, circus acts, aerial paramotors, and giant LED puppets adding to the festive atmosphere. Finishers were greeted with bubble arches, celebratory mascots, and cooling mist.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, said the turnout reflected Dubai’s “incredible community spirit” and highlighted the city’s commitment to inclusive fitness initiatives.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, noted the event’s ability to unite residents and international visitors in celebrating health and wellbeing.

With Dubai Run complete, DFC 2025 continues its month-long programme, including Dubai Yoga on 30 November at Zabeel Park, alongside free Fitness Villages, Community Fitness Hubs, and thousands of classes, offering opportunities for residents and visitors to complete the 30x30 challenge.
