Dubai Schools to Close for Four-Day Holiday in Celebration of UAE National Day

Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has confirmed that regular classes for private schools, nurseries, and universities will resume on Wednesday, December 4, following a two-day closure for Eid Al Etihad and UAE National Day celebrations.

All educational institutions in the city will remain closed on December 2 and 3, marking the nation’s 53rd anniversary of the unification of the seven emirates in 1971. Eid Al Etihad, which commemorates this historic event, will be celebrated with a series of official events across the country.

In addition to the school closures, employees in both the public and private sectors will enjoy paid holidays on December 2 and 3, as announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE). The two-day break, combined with the weekend, gives workers a four-day holiday.

The official celebrations for Eid Al Etihad will be held in Al Ain, where the country’s leaders and rulers will gather to honor the occasion amidst the region’s stunning natural landscapes.

As residents of Dubai prepare for the festive break, schools and universities are set to reopen on December 4, resuming their regular schedules.
