Dubai will host the 8th edition of Airport Security Middle East as a co-located conference during the 24th Airport Show, from May 6 to 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the event aims to address pressing security challenges, emerging threat scenarios, and future-proofing airport operations through cutting-edge technologies.

Part of the prestigious Airport Show, the conference brings together key airport industry leaders and decision-makers from across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. With over 120 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, including national pavilions from Germany and Italy, and 150+ buyers from 30 countries, the event promises high-level networking and strategic business opportunities.

A key focus this year is the integration of AI-driven technologies. From real-time video surveillance and behavioural analytics to cloud-based access control and intelligent threat detection, smart systems are reshaping airport security. Colonel Eng. Expert Marwan Mohammad Singel of Dubai Police emphasized, “Technology is a supreme factor in ensuring safety and seamless travel. Alongside top-tier tech, we invest heavily in staff training to stay ahead.”

The Airports Council International projects global airport investments to hit US$2.4 trillion by 2040, with the Middle East and Africa accounting for US$75.5 billion. The regional outlook is promising, supported by IATA’s forecast of 3.9% annual passenger traffic growth through 2043.

Dubai, with two international airports, efficiently handled 92.3 million passengers in 2024, maintaining its position as the world’s busiest airport for international travel for the tenth consecutive year.

May Ismail, Event Manager at RX, noted,

“The Airport Show introduces a spectrum of modern security solutions, many making their Middle Eastern debut, to meet the industry's evolving demands.”
