Urban Future Week concluded at the Museum of the Future, highlighting Dubai’s leadership in shaping sustainable, technology-driven cities.
The two-day forum brought together global experts, government leaders, and innovators to discuss how urban planning can evolve to meet future challenges.
Organised in partnership with Dubai Municipality, the event focused on practical strategies for building resilient and inclusive cities. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said the success of the event reflects Dubai’s commitment to advancing sustainable city planning and smart governance. He added that the municipality will turn the forum’s insights into actionable projects through predictive policies, digital tools, and stronger public-private collaboration.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, outlined five strategic priorities shaping the cities of tomorrow. These include AI-powered energy efficiency, sustainable materials to mitigate heat, renewable solutions to address water scarcity, biodiversity preservation, and reconnecting people with nature through intelligent design. He said Dubai aims to serve as a global laboratory where technology and nature converge for human well-being.
Majed Al Mansoori, Executive Director of the Museum of the Future, noted that the event reinforced international cooperation in developing urban strategies that enhance quality of life and environmental protection.
The programme featured a keynote by Jordanian architect Sahel Al Hiyari, winner of the Great Arab Minds Award, alongside sessions on foresight-driven governance, resilient architecture, and sustainable urban storytelling. The event reaffirmed Dubai’s growing role as a global hub for innovation and sustainable urban development.
